It's time to pack our bags -- again!

In a couple of days, we'll be off on another adventure in Bella Italia and we hope you'll join us again.  We'll be visiting some places we've enjoyed before, along with some new destinations.  We'll start in Rome (that coin toss into the Trevi Fountain works every time!), then fly to Sicily, where we pick up a rental car and start our road trip exploring the island for over a week.  After ferrying to the mainland, we'll start to head up the "boot," visiting national parks, Roman ruins, hill towns, cities and more until reaching Milan and our return flight to the States.

The map below shows the stops on our itinerary.  You should be able to zoom in for more detail, and click on each numbered location to see our destinations.  We'll see how that works...

Tom will have his camera out every step of the way, of course, except in those venues where it's forbidden; then he'll have to be a bit less obvious!  If you click on an image, it should open in an overlay on top of the blog. If the post has multiple images, they should appear as thumbnails along the bottom. Again, we'll see if that works as designed.

We hope you'll have time to check on our progress from time to time, and we'll welcome any comments you care to post.

I beg in advance for "travelers' dispensation" regarding typos, misspellings, misplaced phrases, sentence fragments, and the other grammar mistakes that are pretty much guaranteed to come.  My own written language shortcomings are often magnified when sitting down to post after long days out and about, glass of wine in hand.  In the past, when reviewing blogs for edits and additions after our return home, I've been horrified at the number of errors have been out there in cyberspace for all to see! Some of them have been cringe-worthy, so apologies in advance for those that will surely follow.

We hope to see you along the road!
